I didn’t become a building inspector by taking a course. I became one after 15 years of building over 150 homes across Melbourne as a hands-on builder and property developer.
I started in property development—doing renovations, building duplexes, then moving into contract building for property developers. In building so many homes and being very hands-on, you really get to see what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t work at all.
After 15 years, the stress of construction became too much. But construction was all I knew. How could I harness all that experience and those hard-earned lessons?
That’s when I had the idea: use my builder’s knowledge to help property buyers.
I trained under one of Melbourne’s most respected “old school” inspectors—a gentleman who pretty much wrote the book on building inspections. He didn’t need to teach me how to build; I’d already made my mistakes building 150 homes. What he did was show me how to bring it all together as an efficient inspection system.
And that’s how Inscope Property Inspections was born.

Most inspectors learned buildings from books or courses. I learned by actually building them. When I see a problem, I don’t just identify it—I know why it happened, how serious it is, and what it’ll cost to fix.
That’s the difference between an inspector and a builder who inspects.

I’m not rushed. I can spend an hour at your property, or three—it doesn’t matter. Every property gets my full attention, regardless of postcode or price tag.
There are always opportunities to scale, but when you’re scaling, quality drops off. That’s why I limit myself to two inspections per day. Quality over quantity, every time.

See something concerning at an open home? Snap a photo and send it to me.
I’ll tell you honestly if it’s worth inspecting or if you should walk away. Why would I turn down an inspection fee? Because I’d rather save you $600-700 on a property with obvious problems.

My average report is about 100 pages with color photos. But it’s not just for the transaction—it serves as an ongoing maintenance manual for your property. Detailed but easy to understand.

Call me as many times as you want after your inspection. Week later, year later—doesn’t matter. We’ll review the report and I’ll talk you through any concerns. You have my mobile number. No call centers, just direct access to me.

Every inspection is done by me personally. Not a subcontractor. Not a junior inspector. When you book with Inscope, you’re getting 15 years of hands-on building experience.
I personally service all metro Melbourne areas, with a focus on western and northern suburbs. I’ll travel to your property wherever it is.
